You will choose one main class for the day – it will be your child’s base for a vibrant summer day. Through added elements of art, science, and/or movement, each class will be a full and rich experience – one that offers deep learning, but most of all, fun.

Grades 3-6

Introduction to Kindergarten

Children prepare for kindergarten by engaging in language arts, mathematics, art, and music. This fun introduction enhances their readiness for both the social and academic settings of elementary school. Students must be five years old by Sept. 1, 2021.

Introduction to First Grade

Designed to help ease the transition from kindergarten to 1st grade, students will engage in creative, thematic activities that reinforce reading and mathematics. As students are introduced to 1st grade curriculum, they will gain skills for academic success. Students must be six years old by Sept. 1, 2021.

Welcome to second grade! Let's build on our first grade skills in preparation for a solid start in second grade. An emphasis will be on creativity as we read, write, explore and problem solve. Students must be seven years old by Sept. 1, 2021.

Introduction to Second Grade Spanish Immersion

Reinforces reading, math, and the language skills learned in the first two years of PUSD's Spanish Immersion Program. Class is open to any student who has already completed two years of a Spanish immersion program. Students must be seven years old by Sept. 1, 2021.

Take the leap into stories and dance by going on imaginary adventures! Literature will lead you to creative art and poetry projects. Music will inspire you to learn salsa, merengue, cumbia, and hip-hop. From transforming books into creative visions to breaking down steps and routines, you’ll explore our wondrous world to create your own artistic visions. 3 - 5

The Hero’s Journey

Come and discover the hero’s journey as you learn about theater arts, English, and history! Class combines the elements of reading and writing during English with the theatrical, storytelling elements of the hero’s journey throughout literature along with tales of real-life adventurers, heroes, and heroines throughout history. Students will be incorporating skills they learn from all three subjects to create and perform their own play together!
